Trump claims the U.S. and Iran have reached an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz

American leader Donald Trump claims that the U.S. and Iran have reached agreements on the Strait of Hormuz, and now he expects a deal on the Islamic republic's nuclear program.

The president outlined this position on August 2 while speaking with reporters aboard his plane on the way to Washington.

According to Trump, the U.S. refrained from striking Iran in part at the request of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. "The reason they asked for this is that they believe there is a deal. There is a deal on the Strait of Hormuz, and then there will be a deal on the nuclear [program], or, as it can be called, on the denuclearization of Iran. I call it the denuclearization of Iran," the U.S. president said, presenting his version of events.
