More than 112 kg of heroin in cans of rice: smuggling uncovered on Azerbaijan's border - PHOTO - VIDEO

At the "Shahtakhty" customs post of the Nakhchivan Main Customs Department, a vehicle transporting a cargo of "prepared food products" in transit through the territory of Azerbaijan from Iran to Germany was inspected at a stationary X-ray facility.

After that, the cargo was sent for a detailed customs inspection.

As reported by the department, during the inspection the narcotic substance was discovered at the bottom of 1,218 plastic cans of canned rice, 1news.az reports.

The net weight of the heroin, concealed in a sophisticated manner, amounted to 112 kg 761 grams.

An investigation is underway into this case.
