Two deminers injured by an anti-personnel mine in Aghdere
The Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) reports that on August 3, 2026, a mine explosion incident occurred in the village of Chardagly in the Aghdere district, on territory liberated from occupation.
While performing his official duties, an employee of a non-governmental organization involved in humanitarian demining operations, Surkhayly Elzamin Vazir oglu (born in 1994), set off an anti-personnel mine. As a result of the incident, E. Surkhayly sustained an injury to his right leg.
Another employee — Mirzoyev Fuzuli Rizvan oglu (born in 1998) — sustained minor bodily injuries at the time of the incident.
The injured employees were evacuated to the district central hospital. Their condition is assessed as satisfactory.
