Media: Armenian authorities discussing nationalization of all of Tsarukyan's enterprises

The Armenian authorities are discussing the nationalization of the assets of the arrested leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, Gagik Tsarukyan, including his house.

This is reported by the newspaper Hraparak, citing sources close to the authorities.

According to the publication, the initiator of the idea is Armenian Prime Minister and leader of the Civil Contract party Nikol Pashinyan.

The enterprise belonging to the Tsarukyan family was transferred to the management and custody of the state by a decision of the Anti-Corruption Court on July 30. The decision was made on the basis of a motion by the Prosecutor General's Office.

The company's shares were transferred to the republic, represented by the Ministry of Economy.

Earlier, on July 15, the Anti-Corruption Court granted another motion by the Prosecutor General's Office and transferred to state management the shares of Araratcement, which also belongs to Tsarukyan. The Multi Wellness complex seized from the politician was handed over to the Yerevan mayor's office.

Tsarukyan was arrested on July 7. As part of the criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers conducted searches at approximately 80 addresses, after which Multi Wellness, Araratcement, Multi Stone, the Yerevan Brandy-Wine-Vodka Factory Ararat and other facilities were sealed. Employees of the enterprises held protests after the searches and the sealing of a number of facilities. Participants stated that thousands of employees were left without work due to the suspension of the enterprises' operations.
