Bessent said a deal with Iran could be reached on August 4-5

The United States could conclude an agreement with Iran within the next two days, which, among other things, would make it possible to normalize shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

This was stated by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

"We are negotiating with the Iranians, and there is a possibility that we will make a deal today or tomorrow in order to open the Strait of Hormuz and move toward a more normalized position in this conflict," he said on the CNBC television channel.

According to Bessent, the deal will provide for freedom of navigation through the waterway.
