Bild: Drone found at Leipzig airport carried explosives

The drone discovered near a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig/Halle Airport carried explosives.

This was reported by the newspaper Bild, citing sources.

According to them, the explosive substance was in a small package carried by the drone. X-ray images also allegedly indicate that the package was fitted with a detonator, but due to a defect no explosion occurred.

The drone with the small package was discovered last night on the airfield of Leipzig/Halle Airport directly next to a Ukrainian An cargo plane. The search for the person operating the drone has so far been unsuccessful.
