Armenia to change the names of ministries

Three ministries in Armenia will be renamed. A draft of the corresponding amendments to the law "On the Composition and Structure of the Government" was approved at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be renamed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry will become the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs will be renamed the Ministry of Labor and Welfare.

The section on the tasks of the foreign policy agency adds wording about stimulating foreign trade, ensuring the accessibility of foreign markets for Armenian producers, and attracting investment.

The sections on the other two ministries remain unchanged, given that the high-tech ministry had already overseen the field of artificial intelligence.
