Rubinyan: This is real peace, and we should rejoice in it
Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan stated that the peace declaration signed a year ago in Washington between Armenia and Azerbaijan has led to real results.
Rubinyan made this statement in a video address on the occasion of the first anniversary of the signing of the declaration.
"A year ago, when the peace declaration was signed in Washington, skeptics did not believe that it would lead to real peace. They did not believe that it would put an end to endless shootings and casualties on the border. They did not believe that we would emerge from the state of blockade," he said.
According to Rubinyan, Armenia not only did not remain in blockade but was the first to feel the positive results of unblocking by gaining railway communication with the world through the territory of Azerbaijan.
"This is real peace, and we should rejoice in it. We deserve peace. Yes, not all problems have been solved yet," Rubinyan noted.
