Ilham Zakiyev secures spot in European Championship final

Azerbaijani para judoka Ilham Zakiyev has secured a spot in the final of the European Championship in the German city of Heidelberg.

This was reported by the National Paralympic Committee.

In the semifinal, Zakiyev (J1, +95 kg) faced Great Britain's Daniel English.

The Azerbaijani athlete defeated his opponent and advanced to the final.

To recall, on the previous day Saleh Sultanov (J1, 81 kg) won a bronze medal at the competition.
