CNN: Trump administration softens its goals in the war with Iran

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is gradually adjusting its initial goals regarding the war with Iran.

As CNN reports, while at the start of the conflict Washington declared its intention to achieve Iran's complete capitulation, regime change, the neutralization of missile infrastructure, and the elimination of support for regional forces, by the sixth month of hostilities the priorities have changed.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on Fox News that the key tasks for ending the war are ensuring the stability of oil and gas supplies from the Persian Gulf in order to keep prices down, as well as preventing Tehran from creating nuclear weapons. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that these goals are of equal importance. Experts note that bringing energy prices to the forefront may indicate that the administration is preparing to end the conflict with more limited results than originally planned.
