Iran will not allow the U.S. to resume operations at its bases in the Middle East

Iran will not allow the United States to resume the activity of its military bases in the Middle East.

As 1news.az reports citing the Tasnim agency, this was stated by the commander of the Iranian army, Lieutenant General Amir Hatami.

"Everyone must know that under no circumstances will the American bases be able to return to their former state, Iran will never allow this," the publication quotes the military commander as saying.

The commander also noted that the United States has been driven out of the Strait of Hormuz.

"They are no longer allowed to enter the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz," the lieutenant general said.

Recall that the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding on the cessation of hostilities. However, on the night of July 8, the United States, accusing Tehran of violating the agreements, resumed large-scale strikes on Iran.

On August 2, American President Donald Trump announced the cancellation of a planned strike on Iran in order to reach an agreement with Tehran.

Three days later, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated that Iran and Oman had agreed on the coordinates of a new route passing through the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, he noted that the agreement does not provide for the immediate opening of the strait, and the resumption of shipping depends on the actions of the United States.
