Amid preparations for the opening of the Alican border crossing between Turkey and Armenia, work has been carried out in the province of Igdir to organize road navigation.
Road service employees installed new signs at the intersection near the airport indicating the direction to the Alican border crossing. After the completion of the work, signs for other directions also appeared here.
The intersection features directions to Kars, Tuzluca, the airport, and Igdir. In the direction of Igdir, signs have been installed for Alican, the Igdir provincial gendarmerie department, Karakoyunlu, Dilucu, and the Alican border crossing.
Notably, the signs also indicate the direction to Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan.
The road works carried out as part of the preparations for the reopening of the Alican border crossing are seen as one of the signs of increased activity in the region. The installation of new signs is intended to make the route to the border crossing clearer and more clearly marked for drivers.
