Lukashenko presented with the first Belarusian assault rifle
Belarusian arms makers presented President Alexander Lukashenko with an assault rifle produced entirely in the republic.
This was reported by the Telegram channel "Pul pervogo," which is close to the press service of the president of Belarus.
On Tuesday, Lukashenko visited a production division of OJSC "Kidma tek," where he was shown its own fully localized serial production of small arms, in particular the first Belarusian model of combat small arms — the VSK-100B assault rifle. Work on creating a fully localized version of the VSK-100B is at the final stage. It was precisely this model of entirely domestic production that was presented to Lukashenko.
"The First One (Lukashenko — editor's note) ordered another example to be made for the museum of the Palace of Independence," the report says.
The VSK-100B assault rifle is made according to an AK-type system; optical sights and electro-optical devices, a bipod, silencers, an under-barrel grenade launcher, and a bayonet knife can be mounted on it. The stock is a folding telescopic one, and the grip is equipped with a storage compartment. The barrel's service life has been increased, and the accuracy and grouping of fire have been improved compared with similar models of small arms. The presence of additional attachments makes it possible to use the rifle, among other things, as a light machine gun and a sniper rifle.
