Media: Trump ordered a halt to negotiations with Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump has instructed representatives of the American administration to halt negotiations with Iran.

This was reported by the CNN television network, citing an American official.

According to his information, the United States notified its political allies of a change in strategy — the approach of "crushing Iran as soon as possible" has been replaced by the idea of "strangling it" over time. While Trump had previously repeatedly claimed that the talks were going well and that a new deal was about to be reached, the American leader now speaks of the absence of any diplomatic efforts in this direction, CNN notes.

According to information from the network's sources, Trump instructed his team of negotiators, which includes his son-in-law Jared Kushner, Vice President JD Vance and special envoy Steve Witkoff, not to engage with Tehran. Although the president gave this order after "positive talks" with Iran, CNN's sources explained that Trump is displeased with Tehran's unwillingness to yield to his demands. It is noted that before resuming negotiations, the American leader wants to wait until the leaders of the Islamic republic demonstrate a readiness to conclude the deal he is seeking.

Trump earlier wrote on Truth Social that the United States is not conducting and does not plan negotiations with Iran.
