A "Great Silk Road" tourism product will be created in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan plans to create and develop a "Great Silk Road" tourism product.

This was reflected in the "State Program for the Development of Tourism for 2026-2030," approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

The Program provides for the commissioning of 8 cultural tourism products, the holding of four local and one international promotional events (festivals, etc.) by the end of the period, the restoration of monuments in state reserves, and the carrying out of infrastructure works.

Also among the goals of the program are the development of a strategy and action plan for the development of wellness tourism in the country, the improvement of legal and regulatory acts on the accreditation of medical institutions in the area of medical tourism, the involvement of at least five institutions providing medical tourism services in the international accreditation process, as well as the annual holding of a Wellness Tourism Conference.
