UKMTO: Tanker hit by projectile off Yanbu in Saudi Arabia, fire broke out

A tanker was hit by an unidentified projectile 63 nautical miles west of the port city of Yanbu (Saudi Arabia).

This was stated in a report by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) center of the British Navy.

"A report has been received of an incident 63 nautical miles west of Yanbu (Saudi Arabia). A company security officer reported that the tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile, resulting in a fire on the vessel's main deck. All crew are safe," the report said.

Vessels are advised to exercise caution when transiting this area and to report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.
