Body of a contract soldier found on the grounds of a military unit in Armenia

The body of a contract soldier has been found on the grounds of a military unit in Sisian (Armenia).

Armenia's Ministry of Defense confirmed the serviceman's death.

"According to preliminary data, the 37-year-old serviceman died for reasons unrelated to his service. A criminal case has been opened," the ministry's press secretary, Aram Torosyan, told Sputnik Armenia.

According to the preliminary version, the soldier committed suicide.
