Media: Pashinyan is changing the ambassador in Moscow: Arsenyan may be replaced by the curator of the Eurasian track

Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan may be appointed the new ambassador of Armenia to Russia, the local newspaper "Past" writes, citing sources.

Within the ministry, Safaryan oversees the Eurasian track.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is dissatisfied with the work of the ambassador to Russia, Gurgen Arsenyan, and intends to recall him, Armlur wrote earlier, citing its sources.

According to the outlet, the decision of the head of the cabinet is final, and it was made against the backdrop of tensions in Armenian-Russian relations.

The authorities have not given an official comment on this matter.

Arsenyan was appointed head of the diplomatic mission in August 2024; before that, he was a member of parliament from the ruling "Civil Contract" party.
