State Department allocates nearly $40 million for Ukraine

Over 2026, the State Department allocated nearly $40 million for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the purpose of fighting crime in Ukraine.

This is indicated by documents published on the U.S. administration's government procurement portal, which TASS has reviewed.

As follows from these data, in February 2026 the State Department's Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs allocated to the Ukrainian firm Stream Techno a total of about $32 million under two contracts for the purchase of drones and ground control stations for them. In August, the amount of funds allocated under these two contracts was increased to a total of $39.9 million.

According to data on the State Department's website, the aforementioned bureau cooperates with foreign governments, law enforcement agencies and private sector representatives "to combat narcoterrorism, drug smuggling, transnational organized crime and other criminal threats directly in the places where they originate."
