Secretary of Armenia's Security Council: I hope there will be no call from Russia regarding Kocharyan

At the moment, no one from Russia has called regarding Robert Kocharyan, and I hope no one will call, as it makes no sense.

This was stated by the Secretary of Armenia's Security Council, Alen Simonyan, on the air of the Dozhd television channel.

He added that the rhetoric voiced by Kocharyan and his political force largely coincides with the rhetoric voiced from Moscow through the mouths of "talking heads."

Simonyan called attempts to link the searches and detentions involving Kocharyan and his family with the verbal altercation in parliament between the deputy from the "Armenia" bloc, Robert Kocharyan's son Levon Kocharyan, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan ridiculous.

"This is impossible," he noted, disagreeing that what is happening constitutes political persecution.

"The cases under which detentions are taking place involving Robert Kocharyan and his family were initiated long ago," Simonyan emphasized.

Let us recall that on August 24, a verbal altercation took place in parliament between the deputy from the "Armenia" bloc, Robert Kocharyan's son Levon Kocharyan, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The latter, directly from the parliamentary rostrum, promised to take away all of the deputy's property, stating at the same time that he would not be able to pass it on as an inheritance to his children and grandchildren.
