Sabah has entered Champions League history

Sabah club has achieved historic success in the UEFA Champions League.

The Azerbaijani representative became the youngest team to earn a spot in the main round of the tournament from the qualifying stage. The club, founded in 2017, made it to the Champions League league phase just 9 years later.

Previously, this record belonged to the Russian club Krasnodar (12 years).

It should be noted that Sabah earned its place in the league phase by defeating the Israeli club Hapoel (Beer Sheva) 6:4 on aggregate over two matches in the Champions League playoff stage. The "Owls" became the second Azerbaijani club after Qarabag to reach the main stage of the tournament.
