Four defendants in the Kocharyan case arrested in Armenia
A court in Yerevan has arrested four defendants in the case opened against former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, the press secretary of the country's Anti-Corruption Committee, Marina Ohanjanyan, reported.
"Within the framework of the criminal proceedings on the facts of laundering funds on an especially large scale, abuse of official powers and taking a bribe on an especially large scale, detention has been chosen as a preventive measure for four of the six detainees, including the former president's son," Ohanjanyan stated.
According to her, one more defendant has been placed under house arrest.
On Tuesday, the Anti-Corruption Committee said it would seek the arrest of former President Kocharyan, who is currently undergoing a medical examination.
