Shooting at a rave party in Switzerland: one person killed, five wounded
A shooting at a rave party in the canton of Aarau in northern Switzerland left one person dead and five others wounded, some of them seriously.
The incident occurred on Sunday night at the racecourse grounds in the Schachen area, where the "Aarau Rave VOL. 7" event was being held. According to law enforcement, a report of gunshots came in at around 2:30 a.m., right after the official end of the party. Eyewitnesses initially mistook the sounds of the shots for fireworks.
The cantonal police, together with the fire service, cordoned off a large area around the scene and are carrying out a large-scale operation. The motives and circumstances of the crime remain unclear for now. Local residents have been urged to stay away from the area, and witnesses to hand over any photos and video recordings to law enforcement.
