Zelensky announces cleanup of aftermath of strike on Bucha district
The cleanup of the aftermath of the large-scale Russian strike on the Bucha district of Ukraine's Kyiv region is continuing.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on his Telegram channel that, as of today, 38 people have become victims of the attack, another 20 people, including two children, were injured, and four are listed as missing.
Work is continuing without interruption in the village of Myla in the Bucha district to eliminate the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the strike. Rescuers have managed to extinguish most of the fires. Staff of the State Emergency Service are working at the site around the clock, identifying and defusing explosive objects across the heavily contaminated area.
The Ukrainian leader noted that Russian troops are continuing to attack civilian infrastructure, including with jet-powered drones. According to his data, in the past week alone nearly 2,000 attack drones, more than 1,600 aerial bombs and 31 missiles of various types, including North Korean ballistic missiles, were fired at Ukrainian territory. The strikes are carried out almost around the clock on front-line and border communities, among them Nikopol, Kramatorsk, Kherson, as well as settlements in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Sumy regions. Zelensky also stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will respond to every strike on the country's territory.
