Recovery work has begun in Tibet following a devastating flood and a powerful landslide.
According to official data, 16 people have died as a result of the disaster, and another 546 people are currently listed as missing. The region has activated the highest level of emergency response to natural disasters. The Chinese government has allocated 120 million yuan for search-and-rescue and related operations. More than 2,100 people have been involved in dealing with the aftermath, including servicemen of the People's Liberation Army of China, members of the People's Armed Police, as well as employees of relevant agencies and state institutions.
