Yerlan Karin elected vice president of Kazakhstan

141 deputies of the Kurultai voted for his candidacy.

Earlier, his candidacy was proposed by Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The president noted that the vice president plays a special role in the system of state governance. He also ensures a balance between the branches of power.

— The vice president will work closely with the deputies of the Kurultai and the Government. In accordance with the Constitution, he implements the tasks defined by the Head of State. For this position, I propose the candidacy of Yerlan Tynymbayuly Karin. Yerlan Karin is a well-known person in the country. He has worked in the system of state governance for many years, has extensive experience, and can be called a patriotic citizen. He actively participated in the high-quality implementation of large-scale reforms. He has a good understanding of the state's strategic guidelines and development plans. Therefore, I consider Yerlan Tynymbayuly Karin worthy of this position, — said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

After the election of the vice president, the Head of State will sign a decree on his powers.
