Turkey is in contact with Russia and Ukraine on Black Sea shipping — Fidan
Turkey is in contact with Russia and Ukraine on the issue of ensuring the safety of shipping in the Black Sea. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan following the first meeting of the political and defense committee of the Mecca Pact in Istanbul.
"Ensuring the safety of shipping indeed remains a major problem, and not only for the Black Sea, but now also for global food security. As you know, the grain that is supposed to come from Russia and Ukraine is not reaching world markets, so at present we are receiving many requests from various countries on this issue. We are in contact with both sides (Russia and Ukraine – ed.) on this matter. We, as in the past, are working on concluding another agreement similar to the grain deal, if the necessary conditions arise," Fidan said.
