Trump promises to 'hit Iran hard' after attack on U.S. forces in Jordan

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington will deliver a powerful retaliatory strike against Iran after the overnight attack on American forces in Jordan. The American leader said this to the Fox News television channel.

"We will hit them [Iran] hard," Trump said. According to him, the American air defense system intercepted all of the Iranian missiles except one, which it was decided not to shoot down, since it was expected that it would not hit a significant target.

Trump also stated that Iran is seeking negotiations, but expressed doubt as to whether Tehran can be trusted in concluding a possible deal. The American president added that U.S. sanctions pressure on Iran will continue to intensify.
