SCO comes out against interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states
The member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) oppose double standards on human rights issues and interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states. This is stated in the text of the Bishkek Declaration adopted at the SCO summit in Bishkek.
"The member states emphasize the indivisibility, interdependence and interconnectedness of all human rights and recall the universal nature of obligations to observe rights and fundamental freedoms, oppose the use of 'double standards,' especially on human rights issues, as well as interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states," the text of the declaration says.
