Russian Railways ready to discuss concession issues with Armenia

Russian Railways is fulfilling all provisions of the concession agreement with Armenia and is ready to discuss emerging issues and proposals.

This was stated by the head of the holding company, Oleg Belozerov, in a comment to Izvestia.

According to him, Russian Railways maintains constant contact with its Armenian partners and pays close attention to the fulfillment of all points of the agreement, which are in effect in accordance with joint acts.

Belozerov noted that in the course of implementing the agreement, various issues and proposals arise, which the parties discuss together and on which they determine further actions. "There are various questions that our Armenian colleagues ask us. We are open to dialogue," he emphasized.

The head of Russian Railways also stated that the company responds to the Armenian side's proposals in a friendly manner and as comfortably as possible. At the same time, according to him, the activities of the production workers must be carried out within the framework of the current agreement.

"The agreement spells out all the conditions, the issues of termination, cancellation, clarification, development, and extension. All these issues are spelled out in detail in the agreement, and we will strictly adhere to these provisions," Belozerov said.

Commenting on Armenia's fulfillment of the provisions of the agreement, the head of the holding company noted that in the process of its implementation various nuances arise that require clarification.

"I would attribute all actions first and foremost to the normal format of discussion within the framework of the agreement. All other statements that we read about, the appeals that come in — we respond to them exclusively within the framework of the signed contractual obligations. Some additional decisions — Russian Railways is 100% owned by the state — accordingly, may be made at the level of the governments. Any decisions that we, as an organization, will certainly carry out," the head of the holding company clarified.
