Kazakhstan will begin charging Russians for entry into the country

Citizens of Russia and other countries that have a visa-free regime with Kazakhstan will have to obtain electronic authorization to enter the country.

This was reported to RIA Novosti by the operator of the QazETA (Kazakhstan Electronic Travel Authorization) digital platform, through which entry is processed.

It is noted that starting November 1, the authorization will become mandatory for passengers on international flights.

From November 15, it will be required from those entering the country by car across borders with countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and from November 30 — for those entering by car across the borders of EAEU countries.

From December 15, the authorization will have to be presented by train passengers and those who arrive in Kazakhstan through seaports.

The authorization will be valid for 180 days and will allow several trips to Kazakhstan. It is noted that the cost of obtaining the authorization will be the same for citizens of all states. At the moment, the amount of the fee is at the approval stage. Until November 1, the QazETA system is operating in pilot mode, and the absence of authorization is not yet grounds for denying entry into the country.

Earlier it became known that the period of visa-free stay in Thailand for Russians was cut in half — from 60 to 30 days.

The new rules will take effect on September 15, 2026. From that time, Russians will be able to stay in Thailand without a visa for no longer than 30 days.
