Erdogan says he is ready to do everything possible to settle the Russian-Ukrainian conflict
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during a meeting in Bishkek that his country is ready to do everything possible for a peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
"Turkey is engaged in the peaceful settlement of conflicts in the region. Both we and Mr. Putin expect the war between Russia and Ukraine to end peacefully as soon as possible. We want the peace process between Russia and Ukraine to begin as soon as possible, and for peace to prevail," Erdogan told journalists in his press pool upon returning from Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, Putin takes no joy in the conflict. "Is Putin happy about this? No. He also expects that everything will end peacefully as soon as possible. We made it clear to Mr. Putin that we are ready to do everything possible for peace. We are ready to make every effort to achieve this goal," Erdogan said.
