Thailand changes entry rules for citizens of Azerbaijan
Starting September 15, 2026, citizens of Azerbaijan will be able to obtain a visa on arrival (Visa on Arrival) when entering Thailand.
As 1news.az reports, citing the new rules published in the Royal Gazette, only citizens of three countries will be able to use Visa on Arrival — Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Serbia.
Thus, following the revision of Thailand's visa policy, Azerbaijan will be moved from the category of countries whose citizens could use the 60-day visa-free regime to the Visa on Arrival category.
A visa on arrival allows a stay in Thailand of up to 15 days — it is issued at specially designated state border crossing points.
The government of Thailand stated that the revision of the visa rules is aimed, in particular, at strengthening control over the entry of foreigners, reducing the number of overlapping visa regimes, and preventing abuse of existing visa privileges.
