Trump considers renaming the Strait of Hormuz in his honor

U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed renaming the Strait of Hormuz the "Strait of Trump."

The American leader wrote about this on his page on the social network Truth Social.

Trump explained his idea by saying that, according to him, the Strait of Hormuz is now under U.S. control.

"Now that it is under U.S. control, shouldn't we rename the Strait of Hormuz the Strait of Trump? Like America itself, it will become 'hotter' than ever!" the president wrote.

Trump has previously put forward initiatives to change geographic names.
