Russia will give a tough response to Germany's anti-Russian actions, according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry published on the ministry's website.
"The Russian side firmly rejected the absolutely far-fetched accusations put forward by official Berlin regarding Russia's involvement in an incident that allegedly took place at the Leipzig airport," the statement says.
It is noted that the German government's decision to close, under this pretext, the Consulate General of Russia in Bonn and the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin "is regarded by us as yet another step toward the final destruction of the potential of bilateral relations built up by many generations of Russian and German politicians and diplomats."
"Berlin has deliberately resorted to an outright provocation aimed at escalating Russian-German relations. The actions of the German authorities will receive a tough response," the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.
