Overchuk: Russia has the right to decide the issue of preferences Armenia would lose by drawing closer to the EU

Yerevan will decide on its own the issue of its accession to the European Union, while Russia reserves the right to decide the issues concerning the preferences that Armenia will lose in the event of rapprochement with the EU.

This was pointed out by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

He emphasized that the issue of Armenia's accession to the EU is Yerevan's personal affair and sovereign right, and it is up to Yerevan to decide this issue. "And our right is to decide the issues with the preferences that Armenia will lose in the event of rapprochement with the EU," Overchuk noted.
