Tokayev reappoints heads of Kazakhstan's Defense and Interior ministries

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has reappointed the country's ministers of defense and internal affairs.

By decree of the head of state, Dauren Kosanov has been appointed Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He was appointed to this post in June 2025. Prior to that, Kosanov was deputy head of the country's defense ministry and commander-in-chief of the air defense forces of Kazakhstan's Armed Forces.

By another decree, Yerzhan Sadenov has been reappointed to the post of Minister of Internal Affairs. He has headed the ministry since September 2023. In 2022-2023, he was deputy minister of internal affairs.
