People were found alive in the tunnel of the flooded Trishuli hydroelectric power plant in Nepal nine days after the flood.

The Kathmandu Post newspaper reported that rescuers pulled a man out of the tunnel, who said that there were more people alive there. Some time later, the Reuters agency, citing Nepal's Ministry of Energy, reported a second person rescued from the same tunnel.

The cause of the flooding, which affected northern Nepal and Tibet on August 26, was the collapse of a large part of a mountain glacier and the landslide it triggered. After that, a flow of water surged into the Bhote Koshi River. The death toll exceeded 1,200.
