ISIS-linked suspect neutralized in Istanbul

In Istanbul, during a special operation against a suspect linked to the terrorist organization ISIS, 21-year-old Berkan Ç. was neutralized.

During the arrest, he opened fire on police officers. As a result of return fire, the suspect was neutralized, and one civilian was wounded.

As TRT Haber reports, the operation took place in the Sultanbeyli district as part of joint actions by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the Istanbul Security Directorate.

According to law enforcement agencies, Berkan Ç. was suspected of preparing a terrorist attack on Turkish territory.

The investigation is ongoing.
