Zelensky confirms Witkoff and Kushner's visit to Moscow and Kyiv
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the U.S. president's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will visit Moscow, and on Sunday — Kyiv.
Zelensky wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
"We are preparing for this visit. A meeting was held with our broad diplomatic team — precisely with those who work with the American side. And just as it was during previous diplomatic visits by U.S. representatives, we will ensure the normal functioning of Russian airspace so that the negotiators can arrive safely," he noted.
The president of Ukraine called on Russia to also ensure a halt to airstrikes for the period necessary to hold the talks and to resolve logistical issues related to the visit of the American side.
"Our goal is the most constructive and substantive visit and talks possible with the American side. We need to look for real options on how to steer this war toward its end. We will see what proposals Steve and Jared have and what they will be told in response in Moscow," Zelensky said.
