Bear breaks into house and mauls pensioner in wheelchair
In New Mexico, a wild animal broke into an elderly man's home and attacked him; relatives found the victim showing no signs of life.
As 1news.az reports, citing People, the 67-year-old man was at home, while his stepson had gone to the post office.
The elderly man had recently suffered a stroke, had lost his wife, and got around in a wheelchair. When the stepson returned, he noticed the door was ajar, found a bear inside, and hid in his room, after which he called the police and relatives.
The sister and niece who arrived began honking their horn and scared off the predator. Inside the house they found the man showing no signs of life; the bear had inflicted severe injuries on him. Later, police officers tracked down and killed the predator. Relatives believe the man mistakenly let the bear in himself, having heard a noise at the door and thinking that one of his relatives had returned.
