Iran accuses the U.S. and Israel of disrupting IAEA inspections

Iran has restricted the access of inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the country's nuclear facilities because of the actions of the United States and Israel.

This was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei.

According to him, the demands of Western countries are unfounded, since the restrictions on IAEA access became a direct consequence of the actions of the United States and Israel against Iranian nuclear facilities.

Baghaei also stated that the attempts by European countries to once again bring the Iranian nuclear dossier before the UN Security Council contradict their own statements about the restoration of Security Council sanctions last fall.

"This proves the correctness of the position of Iran, China and Russia on the illegality and inapplicability of this mechanism (referring to the snapback mechanism for restoring UN Security Council sanctions - ed.)," the diplomat added.
