Fire at market in Indonesia: there are casualties
In the Indonesian province of Central Papua, 11 people, including six children, died as a result of a major fire at a market.
As NDTV reports, citing police, the fire began at around 00:25 local time (21:25 Baku time) in the town of Paniai and quickly spread to trading kiosks and residential premises located close to one another. In total, the fire destroyed about 40 buildings.
After the fire was extinguished, police officers discovered the bodies of the 11 victims. Five of them were adults, and six more were children between the ages of two and nine.
The cause of the fire remains unknown for now. Police are continuing the investigation and questioning witnesses.
