Iran threatens the U.S. with a full blockade of the Strait of Hormuz
Washington's economic pressure on Tehran risks a full blockade by the Iranian military of the entire area of the Strait of Hormuz, said Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei.
"In recent days, Washington has received a clear warning about new Iranian missiles. Economic war will be met with a maritime exclusion zone across the Persian Gulf up to the blockade perimeter. The operational strategy regarding American ships and bases has been fundamentally revised," Rezaei wrote on the social network X.
On Monday, Iran's Foreign Ministry stated that Tehran has the legitimate right to take measures to protect its interests in connection with the naval blockade and sanctions imposed by the United States.
In August, Washington launched the operation "Economic Outcast," the goal of which is to increase Tehran's financial isolation and force it to concede in the conflict.
