Erdogan: Turkey's exports reach $280.3 billion on an annual basis
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the country's export volume reached $23.5 billion in August, setting a new monthly record.
According to him, Turkey's annual export volume rose to $280.3 billion. Thus, about 1.7% remains to reach the government's target of $282 billion by the end of the year.
Following the Cabinet meeting, the president presented the main directions of economic policy within the framework of Turkey's Medium-Term Program, designed for the next three years: "We have outlined our three-year road map. We have presented policies to strengthen the services sector, increase production, and develop exports."
According to him, despite economic uncertainty, the government does not intend to change the chosen course. "Despite the problems caused by uncertainty, no changes in our policy are envisaged. We will continue to take steps to find permanent solutions and will do everything necessary to make the Turkish economy stronger," Erdogan said.
He also noted the impact of the regional crisis on the global economy and oil prices. According to him, the situation around the Strait of Hormuz continues to create risks for the oil market. The president emphasized that Turkey will continue to develop its economy despite external risks.
