Overchuk: we hope Armenia will continue to work constructively in the EAEU
Russia hopes Armenia will continue its constructive work in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk in an interview with Marina Gromova, a journalist with the "Vesti" news service.
In this way he responded to a question about Armenia's continued work in the EAEU.
"We certainly strive for that and see Armenia as a participant in the Eurasian Economic Union. And over the slightly more than 10 years that Armenia has been a member of the union, this country's GDP has increased almost threefold. Per capita income and, accordingly, GDP per capita have also grown threefold. Our trade in the peak year of 2024 reached $12.4 billion, while Armenia's GDP during that period was at approximately $26-27 billion. And we, of course, very much hope that Armenia will continue to work constructively together with the other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union," Overchuk said.
In addition, he revealed which topics were discussed at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIGC) in Minsk.
