How cargo will be inspected under TRIPP - details

The Armenian authorities are developing a unified electronic platform that will manage all land checkpoints, including those on the TRIPP route (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity).

This was announced by the head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, Eduard Hakobyan, during the Doing Digital Forum 2026, where he presented details of upcoming innovations at the country's customs checkpoints.

"We are currently developing a unified electronic platform that will be able to manage all land checkpoints. Additionally, this platform will consolidate information and ensure seamless integration of databases—ours and those of other countries," Hakobyan said.

The electronic management system will operate within the framework of cargo inspections. Even before a vehicle arrives at the checkpoint, all necessary information about it will already be available. An electronic system will be introduced to reduce queues at the border.

There are also plans to implement a system for determining the weight of a truck without stopping it. According to the head of the SRC, the Armenian authorities intend to use modern X-ray systems with the integration of artificial intelligence.

"There will be tools that automatically assess risks and allow inspections to be conducted without contact. Smart devices will ensure digital tracking of vehicles across the entire territory of the country," Hakobyan explained.

According to him, all of this will enable the provision of international-level services for the entire cargo flow.

"This also applies to the TRIPP road," the official added.

The TRIPP project includes the construction of a railway, highway, oil pipeline, gas pipeline, and fiber-optic lines.

The work will be carried out by an American company in accordance with Armenian legislation, without any military component. Under the agreement, the United States receives exclusive rights to implement the project for a period of up to 99 years, with the possibility of transferring certain sections for sublease to an international consortium that will take on the development and safe operation of the infrastructure.
