School director accused of embezzling 69 thousand manats detained in Turkey
In accordance with the requirements of the Convention on Extradition of December 13, 1957, the request submitted by the General Prosecutor's Office for the extradition of AR citizen Sevindj Huseynova has been granted by the competent authorities of Turkey.
In the framework of a criminal case investigated by the Surakhani District Prosecutor's Office in Baku, substantiated suspicions have been established that S. Huseynova, while serving as a school director, abused her official position and fraudulently appropriated funds from several individuals totaling 69 thousand manats, reports 1news.az citing the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.
In this regard, a decision was made to charge Sevindj Huseynova as a defendant under criminal articles for fraud committed using her official position, causing significant damage, and repeatedly, as well as for abuse of official powers. Since she fled from the investigation, an international search was initiated for her, and as a result of operational and investigative measures, S. Huseynova was detained on the territory of Turkey.
Currently, measures are being taken by the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice to facilitate her transfer to Azerbaijan.
It is emphasized that the General Prosecutor's Office continues close cooperation with foreign partner structures, including Interpol, to locate wanted individuals abroad and ensure their transfer to Azerbaijan.
