High-ranking Trump administration official suspended over 'sugar daddy' allegations - FOTO
29-year-old Julia Varvaro, a high-ranking official in Donald Trump’s administration, was suspended from her duties at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in April 2026.
According to 1news.az, this was reported by American media outlets.
It should be noted that Julia Varvaro held the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism, and the reason for her suspension was the initiation of an internal investigation following accusations made by her former partner.
Varvaro’s ex-boyfriend, businessman Robert B., claims that the woman used him as a 'sugar daddy,' extracting around $40,000 (68,000 manats) for luxury vacations, Cartier jewelry, and expensive handbags.
According to him, the relationship lasted about three months and was financially unequal. He also stated that he considers the situation potentially sensitive from a security perspective, given the official’s position in the counterterrorism unit.
Julia Varvaro rejected the allegations, stating that this is a personal conflict with her former partner, who is attempting to portray their relationship in a distorted manner. She completely denies the accusations, calling them revenge from a 'crazy ex-boyfriend'—according to her, there is nothing illegal about receiving gifts and going on joint trips within the context of a relationship.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the suspension, noting that an internal investigation is underway—final conclusions from the investigation have not yet been made public.
