Where they pay the most in Azerbaijan: leaders and industries with the lowest salaries named
The average monthly salary in Azerbaijan has reached 1,151 manats.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in the first quarter of this year the average nominal monthly salary increased by 6.2% compared to the same period last year.
This was stated on his Facebook page by member of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, MP Vugar Bayramov, who noted the following: "During the specified period, the number of employees working under labor contracts amounted to 1 million 797 thousand people, of which 869 thousand work in the public sector and 928 thousand in the private sector."
Bayramov emphasizes that one of the key aspects of the average salary structure is the significant difference between sectors of the economy: "The highest level of wages was recorded in the mining industry. Here the average monthly salary is 4,581 manats, meaning that oil and gas sector workers receive approximately four times more than the national average. In the financial and insurance sector, the average salary reaches 2,814 manats. Banking sector employees rank second in terms of wages in the country. Overall, in nine sectors of the economy, average salaries exceed the national average."
The deputy notes that in ten sectors of the economy the average wage remains below the national average: "The lowest figures were recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries at 720 manats. In the trade and repair of vehicles sector, the average salary is 768 manats, which is close to the level of the agricultural sector. In education, the average salary is 824 manats, and in the scientific field it is 1,048 manats."
"Sectoral analysis of average wages shows the importance of a differentiated approach to income growth. In particular, optimizing wage levels not only for civil servants but also in the public sector in general remains an urgent task," summarizes Vugar Bayramov.
